Free First Weekend

All Day, January 4

January 4 and 5 are Free First Weekend at the Museum! That means free admission for all ages, all day long, to our Museum galleries and the Inspire Center. Explore our newest exhibition, Coffee: A Connecticut Story, or join us Sunday at 2 pm for our guided gallery talk through our exhibition Wide Awake: Campaigning for Lincoln. Families, don't forget to join us at Saturday's free family program, "Transportation Trailblazers" at 11 am, and Sundays…

Family Program: Transportation Trailblazers

Did you know the first American submarine was invented in Connecticut? What about the first practical helicopter? Join us at the museum to learn more about these transportation innovations! Families will make a toy submarine, fly paper airplanes and helicopters, and pose in a hot air balloon-inspired photo booth while exploring the history of transportation in Connecticut.

French Canadian Jam

Get acquainted with French Canadian traditional tunes at this monthly jam session at the CMCH,  happening Saturday afternoons on First Free Weekends! New players and new listeners are always welcome!
