Family Activity Kits are free take-home resources for families to enjoy, bringing history and fun together in the comfort of your own home! With themes changing every other month, you can enjoy these kits all year long. March-April’s theme is “The Art of Nature," a look at some paintings, sculptures, and songs that have been created with inspiration from Connecticut's varied landscapes.

Flashback to the 1980s! Jump into a life-size version of the classic arcade games Pac-Man and Tetris, model some wicked awesome accessories on our 1980s-inspired fashion runway, and design some totally rad decor to take home.
French Canadian Jam
Get acquainted with French Canadian traditional tunes at this monthly jam session, happening Saturday afternoons on First Free Weekends!
Tavern Talks
On select Sundays at 2:00 pm, drop in for a gallery talk about tavern life in early Connecticut. This program is included in regular museum admission.
Family Storytime
Join us for family story time at the Museum! Cozy up with beanbags and enjoy a reading of a book all about creativity and innovation. Then, families will be challenged to embrace their own inventive spirit by getting crafty in the Inspire Center!
Lunch and Learn – Songs of Colonial & Revolutionary America
Join us as we listen to songs from various sources from the Colonial and Revolutionary period. Robert Cohen will help us understand the role music played during this period.
Family Movie Night: Inside Out 2
Join us for a special showing of Inside Out 2 and embark on another adventure with Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger, and Fear - now joined by Riley's newest emotions! Free popcorn and juice boxes will be provided. Families are encouraged to bring pillows and blankets.
