Family Program: Sailors, Ships, and Sperm Whales

May 5, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Ahoy mateys! Step aboard the CMCH and learn about Connecticut’s maritime history!  See what it was like to be an 18th-century sailor and try your hand at knot tying. Learn about Connecticut’s whaling history and make kid-friendly “scrimshaw” using scratch art. And explore the Making Connecticut exhibit and other parts of the museum with a scavenger hunt to see how boats and ships have changed over time.

This drop-in program is free and open to the public, and great for children ages 5 and up. For more information, please contact Corinne Swanson at (860) 236-5621 x222 or email corinne_swanson@chs.org. Thanks to Berkshire Bank for their support of this program.
