DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: This event is sold out! Thank you for your interest\, be sure to stay tuned for future workshops! \nBe it medieval illuminated manuscripts or a Ming dynasty scroll; handmade books are meaningful works of art with a rich history. Dive into the wonderful world of bookmaking with this introductory level class where you will learn the vocabulary\, history\, and know-how of binding books. By the end of the class\, you will have completed your own handmade book to take home! \nMaterials will be provided; however\, patrons are encouraged to bring any scrapbooking paper\, drawings\, or paintings they wish to use for their book’s cover. Suitable for ages 16 and up. \nAbout the Instructor: Mya Concepcion is a museum educator at the Connecticut Museum as well as a working artist. She holds a BFA in Painting and Art History from the Hartford Art School and has studied with various book artists. \nQuestions?
