SUMMARY:Hands-On History Workshop: Introduction to Calligraphy
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we discover the art of calligraphy! At this interactive workshop\, tweens and teens can explore the visual art of lettering through instruction from local calligrapher Meret Nahas. We’ll practice writing in both print and cursive with pencils\, paintbrushes\, and pointed pens. We’ll also take a close look at historic letters from the CMCH collection to see how the way we write has evolved over time. Students will take home a nib and pen holder to practice their calligraphy at home\, as well as a finished example of their calligraphy. \nThis workshop is great for students ages 11-16. The cost is $8 per student for CMCH members and $10 per student for non-members. All supplies will be provided\, and no experience is necessary. Please call (860) 236-5621 x222 or email corinne_swanson@chs.org to register.
