DESCRIPTION:This workshop is now sold out! Thank you for your interest\, we look forward to having you join us at future programs and events. \nJoin us in learning the basics of linocut printmaking! In this workshop\, led by artist Lara Miller\, you will be guided through the whole “block print” process: from designing a pattern\, transferring\, carving\, testing and printing your greeting cards to take home. No printmaking experience required\, and people of all artistic abilities are welcome. Even if you think you can’t draw\, you can print! All the tools and materials will be provided; however\, participants are encouraged to bring any print making tools they wish to use. \nLara Miller is a non-profit professional\, freelance artist & consultant\, writer\, and craftsperson. Her various art and craft forms consist of block printing\, decorative carving\, sewing\, embroidery\, painting\, pottery\, and more\, and she has taught classes in most of those crafts. Join us for an introductory level workshop with local stained glass and restoration artist Francis Barkyoumb of Glass Dance Studio. Francis will guide you through the step-by-step process of stained-glass. The workshop will provide you with a pre-cut glass pattern that you will learn to foil and solder. By the end of the class\, you will have completed your own stained-glass piece to take home! \nFrancis Barkyoumb has been a stained-glass artist since 2009 and began teaching the art form in 2012. Families\, don’t forget to join us at Saturday’s free family program\, “Transportation Trailblazers” at 11 am\, and Sundays return of “Family Story Time” at 3 pm. \nFree First Weekend falls on the first full weekend (Saturday to Sunday) of each month.
