SUMMARY:Behind The Scenes Tour: Women's Suffrage in CT
DESCRIPTION:How did the women of CT work for – or against – the right to vote? In this behind-the-scenes program\, we’ll look at photos\, letters and pamphlets from our collection to understand one of the most hard-fought political battles of American history. You’ll learn about suffragists like Katharine Houghton Hepburn\, Mary Townsend Seymour\, and Isabella Beecher Hooker\, as well as some CT women who fought tooth-and-nail against women getting the vote (what was up with them?). \n$10 for CMCH members\, $15 for non-members. Ticket includes admission to the museum’s galleries. Dr. Lund served as Regional Minister in the Florida Conference of the United Church of Christ and as a Vice President for Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis\, IN. She holds degrees from Trinity University (BA)\, Princeton Theological Seminary (MDiv)\, Rutgers University (MSW)\, and McCormick Theological Seminary (DMin). Rev. Dr. Lund received the Dell Award for Mental Health Education at the 30th General Synod of the UCC. She currently serves as Minister for Disabilities and Mental Health Justice on the national staff of the UCC and as senior pastor of First Congregational UCC of Indianapolis\, IN. Rev. SUMMARY:Family Program: Movie Under the 'Stars'
DESCRIPTION:Curl up under the “stars” for a movie night at the CMCH! Enjoy a special showing of the movie Frozen while snacking on free popcorn! Families are encouraged to bring pillows and blankets and wear their comfiest footy pajamas. Quiet toys and activities to enjoy during the movie will also be available. Exhibits will be open from 5:00 – 6:00 pm; the movie will begin at 6:00 pm. \nThis program is FREE and great for children under the age of 12.
