Bus Trip to Lyman Allyn Museum of Art

June 25, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Join us for a fantastic opportunity to visit one of southeastern Connecticut’s gems. The Lyman Allyn Museum of Art houses more than 17,000 objects from all over the world, with strong collections of American painting, decorative arts, and Victorian toys and doll houses. Their newest permanent exhibition is Tiffany in New London. It explores the life and career of artist, designer, and glassmaker Louis Comfort Tiffany through the lens of New London, focusing on the artist’s unique connections to the region. This Gilded Age permanent collection gallery includes stained-glass windows, lamps, favrile glass vessels, silver, jewelry, paintings, archival photographs, and other objects, some of which come from Tiffany family descendants.

Our experience at Lyman Allyn will begin with a curator-led tour of Tiffany in New London, followed by time to browse the rest of the museum. Lunch will follow, and then we’ll board the bus to return to the CMCH.

The bus will depart the CMCH at 8:30 am and return at approximately 3:30 pm.

The trip is $95 for CMCH members and $105 for non-members, and includes lunch. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. You can register online here.

The trip is free for subscribers to the CMCH Decorative Arts Council. Interested in subscribing to collections-based programming events at CMCH? Learn more here!

Please contact Adult Programs Manager Natalie Belanger with any questions at (860) 236-5621 x289, or email Natalie_Belanger@chs.org.
