Appreciated Stocks and Mutual Funds
This may be a good time for you to take advantage of the benefits of donating appreciated securities. When you give securities that have increased in value and have been held for more than one year, you receive the immediate reward of an income tax charitable deduction based on the current value of the asset as well as the avoidance of capital gains taxes. For information on donations of appreciated assets, please contact Chief Advancement Officer Jamie O’Brien at jobrien@connecticutmuseum.org.
