Exhibit tour of “Black Citizenship in the Age of Jim Crow”

April 6, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 2:00 pm on Saturday, repeating until September 15, 2019

Join us each Saturday for a staff-guided tour of this thought-provoking exhibit.

The exhibition highlights the ways in which black Americans resisted oppression, defined their own lives, and found strength within their communities. But the story of Jim Crow is grim and sometimes shockingly violent. The materials in the exhibit do not shy away from these realities. Visitors should be prepared for emotional responses to some of the material.

This tour is included with museum admission.

This exhibition has been organized by the New-York Historical Society.
