In this program, students investigate the daily lives of people living in the colonies during the American Revolution. By examining historical paintings and considering excerpts from letters, memoirs, and other primary sources, students will gain insight into these experiences and learn how the war affected those at home and on the battlefield.  

Students will be able to:

1. Examine primary and secondary source accounts from multiple perspectives to empathize with the experiences of a wide range of people living in the colonies during the American Revolution. (CT HIST 5.4, 5.6; CCSS R1, R7, S&L2, L4, RS2, RS4, RS7)

2. Compare and contrast the experiences of men at war and men and women on the home-front during the American Revolution. (CT HIST 5.4, 5.6, 8.3; CCSS R1, S&L2, RS1)
