Coffee Hour with CMCH: Witches in Connecticut

May 8, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

**Update: All the spots in this program have been claimed! We will run “Witches in Connecticut” for a future online Coffee Hour — keep an eye on this page, our social media and weekly email newsletter for more information!**

The harrowing story of the hanging of witches in Colonial New England continues to haunt our present-day imagination. The trials and executions of witches in Connecticut predated the more famous Salem witch panic by over 40 years. Join CMCH staff online via Zoom to hear the stories of some of the women and men accused, tried, and executed as witches.  You’ll learn how Connecticut successfully controlled the spread of witch accusations long before Salem erupted in panic and violence.

This program is free and spaces are limited. To secure a spot, click here to register via Brown Paper Tickets. You’ll get a confirmation email from Brown Paper Tickets. The morning of the program, you’ll get an email from CMCH with the link to the Zoom meeting. Please do not share that link with anyone! It’s unique to you.

Our virtual coffee hours have been really popular! Program topics that fill up will be repeated later in the spring or summer.

We’re offering this program for free, but if you would like to make a donation to help the CMCH keep history alive through this difficult time, please click here. Or, to learn about the benefits of museum membership, click here!
