Weather impacts us all. But for farmers, the stakes are higher.
Everyone has a weather story. Whether we’re excited for the weekend sunshine, remember the time a tornado touched down nearby, or are checking the forecast for rain, weather shapes our lives in ways both big and small.
But what happens when weather has a direct effect on one’s livelihood? From the beginning, Connecticut farmers have navigated both the obvious and the unexpected challenges.
In the Museum’s upcoming exhibition, Come Hail or High Water, discover the dynamic relationship between farming and weather through the perspectives of farmers both past and present. Learn about the influence of weather on everyday farm life, the devastating impacts of disasters, and how farmers and their networks prepare and innovate for the future.
