In 1825, The Connecticut Historical Society was founded to preserve history for future generations. What began as the first historical organization in the state has evolved over time to reflect the varied cultures and communities living within it. Today, it is known as a the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History, and its impact extends far beyond its walls at One Elizabeth Street in Hartford. The Museum continues to collect and safeguard the stories of those who came before, enrich the lives of those here today, and strives to collect and preserve the stories of tomorrow.
