Excerpt:

Lunar New Year begins on Jan. 29, beginning the start of a new lunar cycle. The celebration period of Lunar New Year begins with the first new moon of the year and ends on the date of the first full moon. Lunar New Year, also referred to as the Spring Festival, is celebrated in various Asian countries, including China, Korea, Vietnam and more.

2025 is the Year of the Snake, the sixth animal in the 12-year Chinese zodiac cycle. In the Chinese zodiac, each year is represented by a different animal. The twelve Chinese Zodiac signs in order are rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog and pig.

Several places in Connecticut will host celebrations throughout the Lunar New Year period. Here’s where to celebrate Lunar New Year throughout the Nutmeg State.”
