CCHAP PROJECTS

Since its inception in 1991, CCHAP has produced a great variety of folklife and folk arts projects in partnership with Connecticut traditional artists and communities. See selected initiatives here:

Sewing Circle

Beginning in 2007 to encourage production and marketing of traditional crafts among the immigrant communities in the Greater Hartford area and across the state.

MAS CAMP

Mas Camp: Carnival Costumes Summer Youth Employment Program was a partnership between the Exotic One’s Band and the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History’s Connecticut Cultural Heritage Arts Program from 2011-2020.

NEW LIVES / NEW ENGLAND

This project highlighted refugee and new immigrant traditional artists now living in Connecticut, Vermont and Maine during 2013-2014.

RADIO FESTIVALS PROJECT

Words and sound were woven together by to create podcasts and audio slide shows during 2008-2009

SOUNDS LIKE HOME

Collaborating with WNPR to record the music and traditions of ethnic Connecticut in 1995.
