When the Hartford Retreat (now the Institute of Living) was founded in 1822, it was one of the first psychiatric asylums in America. Join us for a talk by Dr. Harold I. (Hank) Schwartz, Psychiatrist in Chief, Emeritus at the Institute, about how this Connecticut institution was at the forefront of the development of modern psychiatry.

$5 per person. The event is free for CMCH members and for employees of Hartford Health Care. Light refreshment will be provided.
