Where do we find common ground? Cultural heritage art forms create and reflect meaning, identity, and community, but we can become focused on cultural differences or assume that there is a universal artistic language. But what if we can dig into—and challenge—both perspectives?
In this series, we bring together traditional artists who practice art forms rooted in different cultural traditions to demonstrate their work, share with one another, and discuss their similarities and differences. This conversation will feature Kathak dancer Rachna Agrawal and Flamenco dancer Yohanna Escamilla, as they discuss and demonstrate their dance traditions with one another and with audience members. Come with your questions to share!
