Family Program: Instrument Discovery Lab

Help us welcome the Hartford Symphony Orchestra when they visit the CMCH for a special Free First Saturday! Kids will have a blast experiencing the HSO Instrument Discovery Lab, trying out dozens of musical instruments from the violin and the saxophone to the tuba and the glockenspiel. The Instrument Discovery Lab is a musical laboratory that gives children the opportunity to see, hear, touch, and play! Come learn how playing a musical instrument is a whole-body experience; you’ll feel each instrument’s vibrations humming differently from your head to your toes! Discovery Lab sessions will be offered at 10:30, 11:00, and 11:45, and each session will last approximately 25 minutes. From 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, there will also be a noisemaker craft available for children to make in the auditorium lobby.
