Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Marketing and Communications, this position will be responsible for collaborating with the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History’s team to manage the Museum’s print projects and digital strategies. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can be collaborative, and organized, while working on deadline. A professional who is dedicated to teamwork, execution, project management fundamentals, and the fulfillment of the Museum’s mission.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

· Manage the Connecticut Museum’s email marketing program, ensuring consistent quality, formatting, tone, and voice, and maintaining lists and segments,

· Work with Director of Marketing and Communications to determine content for the bi-weekly e-newsletters and manage the layout, stakeholder view process and delivery,

· Monitor statistics and share e-campaign reports to support the Marketing Director in making data-driven recommendations for improving email strategies and ensuring successful campaigns,

· Design digital assets for the website, email, social media pages, and print campaigns,

· Design and manage print collateral projects including, but not limited to: Rack Cards, Program Flyers and Mailers. Create print-ready files to send to the printer, and manage the production through delivery,

· Ensure that all marketing materials maintain visual and style brand consistency,

· Support other departments as needed with signage, banners, or other deliverables,

· Create and curate meaningful and impactful social media content to align with the Connecticut Museum’s mission,

· Ensure all digital postings are correct and current and manage any comments in a timely and professional manner,

· Assist with the planning, publicizing and staffing of public programs and media events,

· Assist in the maintenance and updating of content on Connecticut Museum’s website,

· Photograph and/or video museum events and exhibits as needed,

· Maintain database of all marketing related contact information, passwords, etc.,

· Maintain photo library for marketing purposes,

· Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, multi-media, or related,

· One (1) or more years of Marketing experience,

· Proficiency and strong design skills in the Adobe Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.

· Excellent writing and editing skills,

· Solid understanding of social media and scheduling and posting on multiple platforms,

· Working knowledge of project management in a quick turnaround, nimble environment,

· Working knowledge of email distribution platforms such as Robly,

· Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports,

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills and ability to work under tight deadlines,

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to navigate approvals from stakeholders,

· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously,

· Ability to lift 20 lbs.,

· Ability to visit office and other locations to provide marketing support as needed.

 

Benefits
Eligible for employer contribution to 403(b) plan in accordance with plan provisions, plus paid vacation and sick days. 

Schedule
Part time, 20-25 hours per week, some nights and weekends as programming coverage requires.  

Compensation
$23.00-$26.00 per hour
