Family Activity Kits are free take-home resources for families to enjoy, bringing history and fun together in the comfort of your own home! November - December’s theme is “A Playdate with our State," a look at Connecticut-made toys, like Legos and Silly Putty! Please Note: This is not an on-site program.
Journey to the past right in your own backyard! Families will learn how to recognize dinosaur tracks and prehistoric plants that still live in Connecticut today, dig for replica fossils of Connecticut dinosaurs, and then create their very own fossil to take home!
The Inspire Center brings history and problem-solving together in a hands-on creative space for visitors of all ages! Look closely at objects from the Connecticut Museum collection, get inspired, and work together to create something new. December’s and January's challenge is to design a new style of pinback button.
From hibernating to exploring, Connecticut animals experience winter in many ways! Through crafts and hands-on activities, learn about some of the ways these cuddly creatures stay warm (or not!) in the winter months. You can also make holiday poppers to celebrate the new year and decorate cards for loved ones!
